But please, there are already some 200 million, privately owned firearms in America. Every year there are 30,000 gun deaths and in some years more than 400,000 non-fatal, gun-related assaults.

The next time someone wades through a pool of blood to sidle up and champion the preservation of firearms, can't we just say, no thanks?

To quote Bill Hicks, There's no connection (and you'd be a fool & a communist to make one) between having a gun & shooting someone, and not having a gun & not shooting someone.

Probably neither side wants to. We love our guns. I love mine, and I'm a freedom loving liberal. In fact, it's how we stay free. An armed people is difficult for the government to overthrow.

"The real NRA nut says If the government can take our guns, then after that they can take our freedoms.

"But what happened with the patriot act was the government said isNo, no, no. Keep the guns, just give us the freedoms.

"And they said WE GET TO KEEP THE GUNS

"If you wrapped the request in a flag, they'd line up to surrender the freedoms. They just really want the guns so that they can protect the guns."
