Before we get close to the grand unified theory, we need to get Under the skin of space time.
There is the fact that we have the minds of children, and still don't understand what we see.
There was once the idea we could build a tower that would reach the sky. Then came the idea that the skies were far more distant than we imagined but perhaps we could develop a means to travel the course of the skies.
Now we are beginning to understand that the idea of travel is a misnomer, where to get from one place to another we need to eliminate distance by traveling along another axis of the continuum
We will learn when we are ready to understand.
