In Berlin. Indeed, the persecution of every group of fellow humans needs to be part of our collective memory.

We always make memorials so we don't forget the atrocities of the past and yet we keep doing the same thing over and over and we do things that are just as bad if not worse. When are we going to build a statue or a memorial and then actually stop the wars and atrocities?

But we tend to make - in the US, anyway - memorials to our own who were killed by others, and forget the ones killed by us. We forget that we always commit atrocities in war, then plunge into war again, and become astonished when our own commit atrocities.
We won't practice peace until we see both the good and the bad of our history with equal clarity, and own the consequences.

Why not just make a memorial to the human beings that were persecuted under Hitler's reign?

Ok,

I am on vacation and I had to go to bed EARLY because I was just trying to hang out with ppl who like to have contests that I should not even think about participating in, sooooo, I am drinking gator-aid or maybe first aid, and upon further reflection I now realize that sucking on another human being's toe, no matter how attractive they are, is not cool.

But while drinking my lovely glass of gator-aid I thought I'd check my email and here we have this insanely illogical comment.

Why not just make a memorial to the human beings that were persecuted under Hitler's reign?
BECAUSE jmjones if not for the fact that thes...

if you were born gay
Your belief is that people are "born gay", not mine. Also, I was just reffering to what I guess is becoming a pet peeve of mine, and that is all these rediculous labels humans make for themselves. Let's just remember that we're all human beings first and foremost, and that everyone suffered from WW2, not just any particular "group"

If you are not gay yourself then you have no right to comment on things you cannot possibly understand because you have never lived them.

But pet peeve away. It would actually be nice for people to consider me a human being first once in a while.

Once again, your opinion, obviously not mine.
