Charles L. was a serious Nazi sympathizer. One has to also remember that Pearl Harbor was definitely bombed by Japan (even though the rumor mill says that the U.S. was pre-warned by Japan so that sea vessels could be removed from the harbor). Still, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I'm noticing that quite a few people during that time spoke out of both sides of their mouths. Japan had an anti-communist pact going with Italy and Germany. The Western powers supported them because they wanted them to attack Soviet Russia which the Japanese did in 1938. Henry Ford was an open Nazi supporter. Both Ford and GM, among others, contributed to the build up of the Nazi war machine. |
