Hi Rachel... I have a pet store puppy, and had a class action lawsuit 7 years ago. He's a yellow Lab with all kinds of genetic problems...due to puppy mill breeding. Altho the lawsuit was settled, I never gave up on trying to expose the pet shop where my dog was purchased. Today, the pet store is no longer in business, but there are others that will take over...People need to know that rescue is the way to go...not pet shops. http://webster2.tripod.com/meetmickeyapetstorepuppy I closed down a car dealership once but I didn't really mean to. I know it's not the same thing but then it kind of is because somebody sold me a lemon for a car and someone sold you a puppy that had been mistreated. However the puppy is more important than the car. I do understand the frustration you must have went through with that petshop. I am a big proponent of shelter animals. I believe most shelter animals are not as prone to the small gene pool breeding that goes on in puppy mills that lead to genetic malfunctions. We have too many pets without good homes as it is, without searching for someone to make more with price tags on their heads. Sad. |
