In Islam, religion passes from father to child. His father named him Barack Hussein Obama. Only Muslim children were named Hussein. His step-father was also Muslim. Obama's half-sister Maya Soeteoro-Ng said "my whole family is Muslim".
Former classmate, Rony Amir, recalls the entire family as devout Muslims.

During Obam's time at a Catholic School, Franciscan Asisi Primary
School, during 1st through 3rd grades, he was listed as a Muslim on the registration forms.

Paul Watson of the LA Times discovered that Obama was listed as a Muslim at both schools he attended in Jakarta.

In Indonesia students only went to classes that accorded wiht their faith. In his book [i]Dreams of my Father, [/...

What a load of crap. First he is a secret Muslim, then he is a member of a Marxist racist tainted church (never heard of religion been the opiate of the masses, I guess)....

Wow, there is a lot of hate flowing through some nasty places....

The Snopes article has nothing to do with the clip and nothing to do with the comments on this clip. Defensiveness is just so cute.

So he was born in Hawaii? When did American law (state or federal) decide a child's religion at birth based on their parents faith or lack there of?

Correction, Obama was born in Kenya not Hawaii, let myself astray by the smear email quoted in wiccantexan's source.

In Islam, a person does not become Muslim until after puberty by confessing the Shadaha (there is no God but God and Muhammad is his prophet) in front of a Muslim witness.

When it is coupled with the implication that being so makes one a terrorist sympathizer, supporter, etc than it can be construed as such.

ratifar, Obama WAS born in Hawaii. It was Obama Sr that was born in Kenya.

"Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British. "

Oh, for a minute I thought you were saying I hate, you were really just saying you hate because the only one doing what you suggest ( islam = terrorist sympathiser) on this clip is you in your very own words.)

Ah...I was born Catholic but I am not anymore. What matters, at least to me, is what he believes now. I don't get a sense that he has any deep spiritual beliefs. He sat in that horrible church for 2 decades out of political expediency. I am not sure if it is worse to believe in a misguided philosophy out of ignorance or to not believe but pretend you do.

I don't know his heart for sure but his actions sure seem to line up with my thesis.

"Horrible church"

Don;t be misguided by Willies pronunciations of spiritual impropriety and his obsession with Cone. If someone can produce 20 years worth of Sunday sermons to prove the "sat on the pew" statement, please do so. Better yet, Obama wrote two books and made millions of statements, can anyone match them to what Wright said? I mean I'm sure that if there was something there, the GOP/Billary would be all over it. That kind of "influence" can't be hidden, now can it?

Oh and technically, your not Catholic until your baptized, and nothing says that you can't change religion. GOPers do it all the time (just look at Bush and McBush).

McBush may not have changed religion. Currently he can't make up his mind whether he is Episcopalian or Baptist. I guess it depends on the political expediency of the moment.

And another thing:

"Not only the act of apostasy is subject to certain conditions in order to be legally valid, but also with regard to the perpetrator (murtadd) specific qualifications have been laid down. He can perform a legally effective act of riddah [apostasy] only out of free will (ikhtiyar) at an adult age (bulugh), being compos mentis (`aqil [of sound mind]), and, as emphasized by the Malikite school, after his unambiguous and explicit adoption of Islam." [- p. 3][P. 2, n. 3: "It is equally stated that this Islam needs to be evident in both qawl [speech] and `amal [deed]; a person who embraced the faith by merely pronouncing the shahadah [...
