bignosemousie says: Go to the source to read the whole story. Thats quite a story bignosemousie. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. But it is really really hard to have much hope when one looks at the big picture. I have personally spent quite a few years helping with international aid groups and have witnessed too much horror. I would like to think that as a species we might learn from past horrors, but such is not the case. There have been unbelievable masacres both before and since Rwanda. And still the inhuman slaughter goes on.. As I sit here typing this diatribe, women and children are being raped and slaughtered in Darfur and only lip service is being paid to their plight. Sorry about that. I just could not stop the words from... Calvin Coolidge said: "We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once."It's overwhelming to think about all of man's inhumanity to man. However, one US woman made a huge difference in someone's life, and for Violette, that has made all the difference. What if everyone did what they can do? We can't let the fear of doing everything paralyze us from doing something. Thanks for your comment, Socratoad. |
