If a senator and his staff read the bill and conference over, and discuss it's contents, then you have say 30 people reading 3,417 pages. 3,417/30 = 113.9 pages over 2 days.

That's easily readable with more than enough time to provide a synopsis of the bills content for discussion and planning.

Now please make a comment about the Senate voting on the Patriot Bill without reading it.
