Kmcolo is right. They do, however they have long shelf lives which can be extended with proper storage.. And you should buy what you think you will use over a certain period of time and buy more later to add in a dollar-cost-averaging sort of way. Surprise, surprise. I've actually been stocking some food for quite some time. Yep...

Things like pasta, canned vegetables, sauce mixes, tuna fish, canned salmon, cake and cookie mixes, canned sauces, flour are just a few good items to store. Food prices are likely to rise short term and there could be some serious problems long-term. The thing is to buy in bulk quantities on a rotational basis. You don't have to buy all at once.
