Yeehaw! I hit the ten-year mark last summer. Too bad I gained 60 lbs. since then. I wonder what risk category that puts me in.

I smoke very occassionally - really only when I'm down the pub which is very infrequent these days. I'm not sure what that means for my health.

15 years before your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

15 years, imagine how long that is. I think the risk of a heart attack is always higer if you have been smoking.

Congrats enbar & usmc!!!

I've never smoked, but friends & family of mine who have & quite said it was the hardest thing they've ever done. Some of them took it up again a number of times before they finally "quit for good" (some still pick it up when drinking, etc...)

From what I've been told you have to have wicked will power, so good job!

YEAH!, but in the UK the excessive tax on tobacco products funds our Health service, our Schools, and pays the pension bills for our retired citizens (even those who smoke and live till their 90). If everybody in the UK quit smoking, we`d all die of ailments we dont understand, because we had no schools to educate us, hence we`d never live to retirement, which is good because there would`nt be any cash for pensions. If you want to preach to smokers, then do the same to car users (co2 emissions are destroying the planet), have you ever had to walk through smog!!!
