I wonder how the "law abiding citizens" of DC actually feel about it? Having grown up in DC myself, I don't actually think most of them are going to be too pleased with the ruling. It used to be known as the murder capital of the country before the gun ban went into effect.

Gun bans don't reduce crime. They don't stop the criminals from getting guns, just the law abiding citizens.

And it isn't like anyone is being forced to buy a gun. They courts just said it is unconstitutional to take away the rights of a law abiding citizen to own a gun.

I'm just saying, a lot of people i knew -- like, my friends' mothers, growing up -- were pretty glad there wasn't a gun shop on every corner like there is in some towns.

I dont see why citezens weren't up in arms( pun intended) when this was originally established. It is our constitutional right to bear arms. It says in the constitution that our duty as american citizens to overthrow any government official or officials who try to take away our freedoms. Why it took this long for this gun ban to be reversed I don't know, but its good news for law abiding citizens. Gun bans don't stop criminals from getting weapons. They only keep good citizens from getting them
