joaaron2468 says: I mean OF COURSE saying you are a chast women is bad in today's society. What the @#$% England, wake up before you are over taken by stupid over reactions to religion. Remember your history, remember your past. God save the Queen. Although they were technically correct that it was against school policy, I fail to see what harm a simple ring like that could do. Miss Playfoot's lawyers argued in court last month that the school had allowed Muslim and Sikh pupils to wear headscarfs and religious bracelets, and her ring should also be regarded as a genuine religious symbol. At first I was thinking that, if the school has a no-jewelery policy (which it sounds like they do), then why is she so upset. But if they allow other students to wear jewelery, then I can see why she is upset. BTW, good for her and her chastity pledge. Do you think she will lose her virginity now that she can't wear the ring? BTW, good for her and her chastity pledge. Do you think she will lose her virginity now that she can't wear the ring?Let's say she gets married and find she's sexually incompatible with a husband she must now attempt to live with until death. Is it any wonder that divorce rates are much higher in the bible belts? Sexuality is part of being human. I think the abstinance method only increases potential problems in couples. Frankly, I believe the reasons that people push virginity so much is because in the past it was a selling point in girls when the parents where matchmakers and wanted to sell them off to improve their family standing. This is also supported by the old saying that a sexually active boy is a "stud" while a sexually active girl is a "slut". Being married now for 10 years, I find the most sensual thing about my wife is the way in which we share our thoughts and feelings and discuss everyday life. I always find the comment "I'm saving myself for my future husband" as tart and ridiculous ... Both the girl's parents are directors of a corporation called Silver Ring Thing (UK) Ltd., a for-profit corporation promoting the sale of the rings. That sounds like there is something other than spiritual at stake here? There's a lot more I could say but I'll back off for now. There's a lot more I could say but I'll back off for now.Sounds to me like you've hit the nail on the head! |
