Lara Nieberding says: I am wondering where the market is for these services. If you have spent any amount of time in Second Life you will quickly realize everyone and their cousin is a consultant for Second Life. If you ask a consultant who their target is, they always want to bring in Big Corporate. My question is: Why? Are these consultants truly listening to their market? From what I am seeing, those interested in Second Life are there because they enjoy the environment. That is the fun of Second Life-getting in there and doing it yourself. My advice to Big Corporate: be very aware of intellectual property laws. Read Linden Research Labs fine print. Hi Lara. This is Michael Abrams and I work for the TBD Consulting (http://www.tbdconsulting.com ) you are referencing here. You are right, there are many people who can help you get into Second Life. We are still finding many corporate customers who just dont have the time to "play" with second life to learn how to navigate. They need the down and dirty nuts and bolts to make this a business value for them. Our speciality isnt simply getting them in, its really in designing learning environments and courses in-world. We are instructional design professionals with over 17 years experience, not just a fly by night group. In the past few months my clients have come to me seeking help. Thanks for continuing the conversation. |
