Welcome to the new USA. We don't care about dropping bombs on other people, so what's a stabbing. This war has changed American culture for the worse. Looks like the terrorists have won. Oh well, just keep shopping...

Sis,indeed. It beggars belief!

(Only a South African, or someone acquainted with a South African, would use that word. I'm so glad you used it as it is so expressive).

('Sis' in English or 'Sies' in Afrikaans is an exclamation of disgust - from the Khoi (Bushman) word 'si' or 'tsi' - South African English Dictionary)

looks like people are being desensitivised by all the violence on t.v etc. and maybe too busy to notice these things.
although this is common to hear a story like this is the media every so often, maybe there is more to the story then foxnews tell's us

I heard this on the news last night and could hardly believe it then. But I know people who would just pass on by without caring. Selfishness is not a virtue at all. However, we all do similar things (well, not as bad as stepping over a dying woman). Things like not stopping to help someone with a flat tire beside the road. Not holding the door open for the person behind you. Cutting in lines. Making rude remarks about a stranger within earshot of that person. (Not that it's any better to do it when they can't hear.)

There are so many examples of ways that we all, everyday, show an abysmal lack of concern for our fellow human beings. This is just an extreme.

They probably thought it was an advertising gimmick of some sort.

That could be true skwirl. I've read about a stabbing taking place in a NY City and the people in the surrounding apt buildings just watched out the window as the person screamed for help.

The majority of the public has been conditioned to look at this as something that is normal and/ or has to happen (for the good of the whole).

I am at a loss for words. If anyone of these people knew the truth and did nothing, I hope their nostrils flare disproportionately and stay that way for life! This is horrible.
