These people don't care about you, they'll say anything to keep their power and to gain more. As Americans WE THE PEOPLE are responsible for protecting our freedoms,that we must treasure above everything else. WE must do whatever is necessary to make sure we pass those freedoms on to our children,teach them to value those freedoms as much as we do. It is the responsibility of the people to do that,not the government.

It's all too easy to just trust the man with the uniform to do what is right, but when nobody is watching them, they are going to abuse their power,it's simply human nature. These politicians are not saints, they're not gods. They're PEOPLE, just like you, and they're going to do exactly what you would do if given absolute power and the ability to abuse it.Studies have been done that demonstrate how ordinary people can turn into vicious,brutal monsters, when given authority to rule over others.If you think, given the power to detain anyone for any reason indefinitely without a trial,and to torture them during this time until they die, the government would not it use on ordinary people or to silence political opponents, I urge you to look at the history of feudal England.
