6:15 p.m. Posted by Rex Huppke...Blagojevich to people: 'haven't let you down'

Gov. Rod Blagojevich offered a short speech outside his Northwest Side home.

“I love the people of Illinois today now more than I ever did before,” he said. “And the fight goes on.”

“I’m going to keep fighting to clear my name,” he said. “I guess I’ll just have to wait for my day in court.”

“Give me a chance so I can show you I haven’t let you down.”

Blagojevich said he was "disappointed but not at all surprised" by the Senate’s decision to remove him from office.

I'm still waiting for this man to be charged. I understand that he has no morals and is unethical but why haven't they charged him yet and taken him to court. What are the grounds? I certainly don't agree with the way he presents himself but what has he done that other people in politics hasn't done? He was just more out in the open about it.

Blagojevich arrested on federal charges. He'd been arrested along with his chief of staff, John Harris, on a wide range of criminal conspiracy charges,
including allegedly attempting to sell Obama's US Senate seat, allegedly threatening to withdraw funding for a children's hospital and there was an issue regarding a quid pro quo in exchange for firing certain editors at the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.

Also, his phone conversation regarding a donation of $100,000 from the owner of a thoroughbred
race track in exchange for signing legislation regarding the track was revealed.

The prosecutor has requested an extension of a couple months before proceeding to trial.

It should be entertaining, to say the least.
