Godfrey Daniel says: I have a secret i've been keeping. I browse new clips using NetVibes. The reason? The entire clip is viewable. Try it. I bookmarked it- no time right now but this weekend I will read about this in-depth- Thanx I do it too. I read two clipmark feeds on my netvibes: the public and mine. NetVibes has been by Ajax top for a long-time now. I do the same thing and also NetVibes supports Writely. So it is way easy to get info in one location... Glad you posted this...I am so use to using things that I just assume others are doing the same... I set it up a couple of months ago but couldn't get into it -- I don't use enough different web services for it to make sense for me. Checked it out again today, looks like they've added a lot of great feeds to choose from. I am curious about a couple of things... When do you guys decide to browse clipmarks on the Clipmarks site as opposed to in NetVibes? Do you see a specific clipmark you like, then come to the site to pop it or comment or it? Or do you just visit the site every now and then to see what other people are popping, commenting on etc.? Good question. I use google's personalized web page for various different feeds. It will not give you the whole clipmark, just a link to the permalink. For full clip view, google's RSS reader is excellent. With all of this talk about google's questioned ethics and about Netvibe's integration with other web service, I may also give it another shot. Currently I have several little windows with 3 different clipmarks feeds. When you click on the item it takes you in. In terms of improvments, they have done much and while they have some canned feeds, you can add anything you want. I just wish they would implement a Tabbed feature like clipmarks has so you have more then 1 page of feed boxes. I have Google and Yahoo setup too - I use each in a different way - but with those 3 in Firefox tabs, it is like Dashboards withing Dashboards of information. Makes reading, researching, etc. quicker. NetVibes will absolutely give you the whole clipmark. That was my whole point. NetVibes is the first thing I open. I open the Clipmarks feed and click read all. After that, though, I follow on the Clipmars page because NetVibes runs behind. Then I usually move back and forth. With NetVibes 90% of my content is self-created feeds. |
