Yeah, but what I was getting at is that most artificial flavors are based around existing flavors already found in nature (fruits, mints, licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, etc.). It's not often that a man-made combination of chemicals comes up with a new flavor that is so unique and interesting (at least to the American palette) that it's become a common flavor unto itself. It's not often that a man-made combination of chemicals comes up with a new flavor that is so unique and interesting (at least to the American palette) that it's become a common flavor unto itself. Do you think there's any unexplored territory left in the combinatorial chemical realm of human taste-perception for another equally mighty flavor to be invented? It's an interesting question...
