The Eightfold Path mistakenly assumes that no value can be maximal -- that any value can be desired too much. This is not true for values like extropy, intelligence, and justice. Problem is, a value remains a concept, an interpretation. Isn't war or vituperative interpersonal conflict the result of attaching to such words as if one had a claim on some absolute beyond opinion? |
