I'm not big on apples, but I've just discovered the best apple in the world. It hails from Australia, apparently, and is called, "Pink Lady". If you're a South African Coconut (which I think you are) they are obtainable from Woolies, although Spar stocked them for a while. They are sweet yet crispy with a thinner more edible skin.

What is their shelflife? How we can be sure there is not plenty of pesticides or any other similar harmful stuff in them? Unfortunately, we cannot relay on the agencies, called to answer these questions.

Aklimento, the shop that Michelle is referring to carries a good range of organic produce, free of pesticides and GM free.

Pink Lady Apples are awesome. Crisp and Sweet. What I think of when I remember what Red Delicious Apples use to be like years ago.

I have seen a couple of Australian growers websites that say Pink Lady has long shelf life. Shop for organics to avoid the pesticides/herbicides.
