Olbermann on politicizing the US military (video and transcription)

Who and how are we speaking out against this? Do we want to become part of so called "Holy" wars? I can tell you from experiance, there is nothing Holy about war. Christ taugh paficism. Why does God's Gestopo, not teach about, turning the other cheek, Jesus restoring the ear of a soldier that came to arrest him, and the Sermon on the Mt.? How many of the so called "Chistian Right" follow the teachings of Christ? How many follow the cruelty of the God of the Old Testament? Either they follow the teachings of Christ, or, they should leave "Christ" out of the description of themselves.

I agree with you.

Regarding the misunderstanding and misuse of religion, there are distressing parallelisms in the Muslim community and in Christendom.
Too many people, who claim to have embraced Islam or to follow Jesus Christ, lack both religious comprehension and intellectual enlightenment. That would not greatly matter (concerning peace on earth), if they only were modest, peaceable, and honest.
