I think the only way to explain is to simply say that there are way too many people in this world that are totally nuts. And sadly, many of them have power. This will happen in Turkey as well if that other nutcase gets elected president. The true face of Islam marches on... I, who never watch CNN, got caught up in it's special "The War Within" about Islam in Britain. If CNN is revealing the threat and influence of the militant Islamic wing of Islam, we need to be very concerned. It's like a wildfire and it's out of control. I think it is completely *under covered* here in the US. The misery, tyranny and horror of Islam is self-evident. If even the Catholic Pope backs down in the face of Islamic anger, who will stand up against it? What's to explain? Have you been sleep all these years? Islam is all about this nonsense. A women who is raped needs witnesses..3, I think, before she can claim rape. While I agree this story is bizarre, I hate to see some of the comments on here about Islam. Every religious text has passages and laws that seem outlandish if followed to the strictest letter. Islam is no more evil or wrong than any other religion. The Iranian Supreme Court has vacated the murder convictions of a group of serial killers because their victims were engaging in un-Islamic activities, the British Broadcasting Corp. reports. The men were convicted for a series of grisly killings in the southeastern city of Kerman in 2002. The vigilantes were said to believe that Islam condoned the killing of anyone engaged in illicit activities if they issued two warnings to the victims, the BBC reports. At least 18 people were killed on the murder spree, but the men were only tried for five of the deaths. Some of the victims were stoned, others were suffocated and at least one man was buried alive, according to the vigilantes' confes... Simply ridiculous. egoldstein hit the nail on the head. ... there are way tooIt doesn't matter what religion they follow. It is not about religion. We need to be careful. We cannot say "all the muslims are nuts" They are not. There are also mad jewish and christian people. They use any excuse they may have to pursue their goals. Of whom shall we be more afraid? Islamic or Christian extremists. Both sides seem to fear love. NonStatQuo -- Gee, I must have missed that story about the Catholics excommunicating women for hugging. Catholics may not have excommunicated people for hugging, but the Bible has been used to justify slavery. In my opinion one religion is no worse or better than the other one. We can become just as extreme as the terrorists are if we continue on with these kinds of comments about Islam. Sorry- I'm pretty sure I said The Bible, (new testament). It does not advocate slavery, killing or a number of other things many religions promote. Hugging is not the issue here anyways, it is the fact that one religion thinks it is ok to put someone to death for hugging someone else. If that is not radical Islam than what is? If Islam cannot keep its own religion in check, then who do you think is going to? "If Islam cannot keep its own religion in check, then who do you think is going to?" What kind of statement is that to make?! Just because a few followers of a religion are radical extremists doesn't mean the entire religion is to blame. It is not for any of us to keep a religion "in check". That is such an ethnocentrist remark! What about Christian radical, Jewish radicals, Catholic radicals who kill doctors who perform abortions? Islam is not to blame! Individual people are! Out of all the practicing Muslims in the world only a few hand full are extremists/terrorists. I guess that was the point I was trying to make. If only a few people who claim to be of the Islamic religion are radicals than it it should be up to the TRUE Islam beleivers to remove or correct the ones (radicals)who are tarnishing their good name. Don't wait for the rest of the world to do it for you, because they will. Did you notice that the only ones getting attention these days are the radicals? They are poisoning your religion and growing fast. As far as Christian and Jewish religions they are all trying to clean up their image and have been for quite awhile. Church and state are seperated and for a reason. People who blow up doctors who perform abortions go to prison- It is... Kissing is sin too. oh yeah, that first kiss will get you killed, unless your in an family approved marriage! They might as well consider it a crime to be born female. They are already serving a life sentence for it. Of course hugging is a sin. You're wasting time you could be using stoning someone to death. |
