When I saw this,I was reminded of a marvelous book about the early days of gold mining and aviation in New Guinea called GOLD-DUST AND ASHES by Ion L IDRIESS, haven't seen it since I was a kid, googled it, and the only result was a copy for sale on ebay here in OZ, think I'll buy it. Thanks for reminding me of it.
