The thing I hated about traditional research pre-google/wikipedia was having to go through archaic systems to find information. I see wikipedia as a starting point, especially since most articles reference their sources at the bottom. Very interesting. I don't agree with her point of view though. Information is easier obtained through the internet; I don't see the point of complicating my access to information. My college also bans citing these sources. @yanceducat Wouldn't that also apply to research books? They’ll pick any book relatively close to what they are researching and cite it even if the information provided didn't suffice? A lazy researcher is lazy with any material.
