A very interesting article that shows "the great divide" in our understanding of what is now a very big mis-adventure in Iraq. Unbelievable how these neo-cons look at reality and the U.S. roll in international policy. Is really a parallel universe. Almost like the "other side" is from a different planet.

I'm sorry, but weren't Shiite, Sunni, and Kurd radicals unable to terrorize with Saddam in power? You know, the guy who had people go around and kill anyone who looked remotely suspicious. No way in hell was a civil war going to occur there.

And before you say that people would still not have married each other as stated, it isn't like that over there. Instead, small sects of each group are radicals terrorizing, and thus are succeeding when people like us believe their people agree with them.

It's similar to the case in Ruwanda, except the people have not been forced to fight one another in the broad sense because American troops are there.
