It does cost money to use a surrogate. Is your concern that "poor" women are being taken advantage of by this relationship? But it seems to tickle my right/wrong meter somehow. Yes, you have to pay the surrogate, but who does the baby "belong" to (and that goes into the whole issue of owning human beings)? Do you want to create this kind of economic model? Again, lots of questions from me...I find the subject confusing to say the least. There's a place in India where mostly rich Americans go to the women in this one organization carry a baby for them. Some of the women have been a surrogate mother several times already. To them it is a way to earn money to support their families. The show was on the Life Network.
