    		    The British (men and women) really don't like it when women dress provocatively.  In a <A href="http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/documents/violence-against-women-poll?view=Binary">recent survey</A> conducted by the British Home Office, 1 in 7 Brits responded that it was acceptable for a man to hit or slap their wife or girlfriend if she dressed in sexy or revealing clothes in public.  </DIV></blockquote><div style="height: 2px; font-size: 2px; background: #dcdcdc; border-bottom: solid 1px #f5f5f5; margin: 2px 4px;"></div><blockquote style="text-align: left; padding: 0px 8px; margin: 4px 0px 8px 0px; background: transparent; border: none;" cite="http://www.care2.com/causes/womens-rights/blog/british/"><DIV>Let's delve a little deeper into the numbers.  Fewer Brits responded that it was acceptable for a man to hit or slap a woman if she cheated on him or didn't treat him with respect--two actions most people would agree are more serious offenses, or at least I thought.  And don't get me started on the "acceptable in some circumstances but not in others" numbers.
