These are cults not Christianity! They may utilized religion (not just Christianity) as their vehicle to hold power over people - but they do so with evil intent.
These are the groups (David Corish and like) that defile true religion. They are about as evil as the muslim extremists that defile the muslim religion.

um, I know a few people who say they are christian, and none of them are having sex with their own children...

If you are around people who say they are christian and they are having sex with their children, maybe you need to find a new people to be around

Some underlying reason is resulting in your symptoms of obsessive/compulsive addictive behavior to deny your pain and resulting self-loathing by demonizing a group of people that may or may not have some connection to the harmful deed that was done to you in your past.Your narcissistic expressions of hate are a diversion from confronting the real issue. And you avoid the overwhelming guilt you feel by putting yourself in the group of victims who validly are now escaping their shame publicly by rightly naming their predator priests and by your citing every other example you desperately post as you smear your bigoted hate like brown mud or worse across the name of Christians anywhere.
You ne...

Na - I just do it 'cause I like to see Christians get all pissed off and then try to use reason / psychology 101 to counter my arguments.

I figure that if I create opportunities for Christians to think / apply reason / deal with concepts of psychology that they will eventually develop the mental skills to see through their own brainwashing.

Thanks for playing along - LOL.

First of all... POP for kinikonoko's 5:52 PM comment.

Secondly, in this comment...
"You need to know, it was not your fault. You could not have done anything about it at the time." "And after you move past the grief, you'll forgive yourself and have no reason left for your hatred based on religious faith, your bigoted prejudice."
Davboz sums up nicely part of my view of those of deep religious conviction.

I love also how davboz analysis of my motivations is all bitter and hateful invective poorly dressed up in compassion and understanding... So passive aggressive... it must be hard to temper his inner rage with christian virtue all the time. davboz, just let it out man, you end up looking like a hipocrite otherwise.

I think christians end up that way cause they know they are unhinged and need an imaginary friends (God & Jesus) to keep them in line.

What's the difference between a religion and a cult?

At least you admit that you are Christian-baiting.

Asinine for anyone to call this group "Christian". Reminds me of the propaganda of past centuries where we were accused of drinking blood and cannibalism.

Not many real Christians around anyway... by real I mean those people who have taken Christ's teaching seriously and shed all worldly possessions and are off running orphanages, working soup kitchens, etc.

These spoiled, over-fed and mis-educated suburbanites calling themselves Christian just because they go to church and circumsize their children have done worse for religion than any terrorist will.

How would you describe a Christian? I doubt you know the true definition of one.

And yes, there are many who have laid aside their worldly possessions and have committed themselves to the service of others. However, there are many 'callings'; including the call for *using* our worldly possessions for the good of others, or being a Godly parent, of investing the life in the needs of others, of caring for the needy and the sick, etc.....

Back to the initial claim of the article. Christians do not have sex with their children. It's a complete shame that some will sink so low as to try and lay this horrible charge against an entire group of people who's desire is to model the teachings o...

Bravo, kinokonoko!
As long as you are doing your job on the Internet, you aren't suicide-bombing.

my point exactly... if I were the religious type, I would be suicide-bombing, but since I am sane, I don't feel the need

Jatfla

ah the "callings" arguement... As long as I am a "godly parent" I don't have to think about how my cup of coffee is part of a chain of exploitation that puts some peasant-farmer in South America in dire straights... or even though I am committing war crimes I am faithful to my wife (a la Dick Cheney). The point is that no one in North America, living our luxurious life, can claim to be a true Christian, because even the poorest of the poor over here is 100 times richer than the truly poor in 3rd world countries... the "calling" arguement is just a ...

kinokonoko, your vitriolic comments suggest a lack of mental ability to think differentiatedly. What is more, your intellect seems to be absorbed by an anti-Christian idée fixe in a way, that you might probably need psychiatric help?
If you were the religious type, you would be suicide-bombing?!?
May God preserve your antireligious obsession, so that your disastrous disposition doesn't become blood-shedding.

you miss my point Assmus

all religious people aspire to suicide in the name of thier religion (martyrdom) -- at the very least, with a little prodding, or manipulation, religious people can be convinced that suicide in the name of god - be it bomb, or on the battlefield as a soldier - is the right course of action

interesting that you would prescribe psychiatric help, rather than religious guidance for my percieved illness -- you betray your lack of belief that religion can help the suicidal, or those with murderous (sinful) thoughts

you declare May God preserve my antireligous obsession, which of course is something no true christian would wish upon another -- hardly the will of a ...

re: all religous people aspire to martydom

If I kidnapped you and held a gun to your head and told you to renounce your religion -- what would you chose? what would a sane person choose? what do your religious teachings prescribe you to do?
