Awesome...

Frigging awesome.

(I guess it can be found on YouTube tomorrow)

Black leaders from the Civil Rights struggle days of Martin Luther King have been on TV. They all say the same thing: They never thought they would live to see such a day.

And with pride say that now their children can see pictures of a black family in the White House.

And this is all they wanted, every wanted: equality, full participation in America, to see their story as fully integrated and seen as part of the American story.

And then, these old hardened men, they cry.

Wish I could be there in the crowd to hear the victory speech. I'm still weeping with joy up here in Canada, thrilled with the sweeping victory and so happy that my home state of Indiana is going blue!!

I can't believe Obama really won. Like this is so awesome and I'm so excited because I believe in him and everything he says. I believe that now things will actually get better and also our future which is very important, you know. I now have hope in everything.

Bill clinton was the first black president. Aside from that, I see Obama as many things, but "black" does not top the list. I am impressed by the man and his story.

I can't remember ever seeing this kind of popular response to a President - hundreds of thousands turning out in cities all over the USA! Even Kenya declared a national holiday!
Somehow, he has touched us very deeply.

It sure has been amazing! (And continues to be).

It's like so many of us (his campaign workers and supporters) were grinding along and grinding along turning a hard handle over and over again (while watching it grow and grow and become more incredible).

Then, suddenly, BOOM! -- 'Pop Goes the Weasel!"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii7F0OWnHhI

Suddenly it was a World Cup Victory celebration, 4,000 kilometers long! And people laughting and crying, cheering, shouting, singing and stories, the stories that poured out of folks, esp. blacks (Afro-Americans).

There were some things I'd expect to hear .

Like, it's great to have no barriers, no limits to what we can do -- how they could now say...
