If you're a fan of the Theramin... check out the D Beam Controller on Roland Synthesizers. http://www.roland.com/products/en/exp/D_BEAM.html I play a Roland Synth, and these are incredible pieces of technology, a simple idea used to create endless sounds. popped! Cool! It was my own appreciation for synth that drew me when I heard the Theramin .. plus it looked so cool to play. I'd love to try one. And thanks for the link! I'll have to have a look for that too I love the Theramin! Also, it's relative the Melotron, as played (I believe) by John Paul Jones on "The Rain Song" Nice clip - I just spent 1/2 hr listening to different sounds. Thank you - some are beautiful and some are really wierd. Have you ever listened to the planets? Wow. That was awesome Skwirl! I had never heard them. Really shows how close some of the old school sci-fi sounds actually were, too! Thanks for the links. I'll be sharing those I thought they were cool too! I'm rather fond of the tromboon, windbreaker and left-handed sewer flute. |
