Silkweaver says: Based on the team’s findings, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, has ruled that Pistorius is eligible to participate in International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) sanctioned competitions. If he qualifies for the 2008 Beijing games, Pistorius would be the first disabled athlete ever to run against able-bodied athletes in an Olympic event. It seems that the great battle for the acceptance of human augmentation will be decided on the Olympic athletics field. Watching an amputee on the premier of American Gladiator raised some of these same questions. In certain situations, prosthetics could be an advantage. So steroids must be good, too. @mooner-one Please elaborate, because for the life of me, I can't figure out how steroids and prosthetics have anything in common. |
