ratilfar says: Look at the whole clip. I had no idea that Colin Powell and I were in such agreement on so many issues. Great clip. It helped to somewhat lessen the foul taste that his testimony leading up to the Iraq war left in my mouth. Amazing. Powell is taking a stand against his party's puppetmasters. Good for him! He never went out of his way to play it that way, but I do believe that Powell was played as a patsy by BushCo in his preparation for that testimony. They knew that he could sell the bill of goods they were peddling, but that he wouldn't do so if he didn't believe it to be the truth. They duped him as surely as they duped the American public and the rest of the world. Any respect I ever had for Colin Powell is gone. He has become a racist... He has become a racist...You base this on...? You mean that he's fished out the racists in the Republican Party who are playing the race card. This just in: All women voters who supported Hillary are going to vote for Palin for President, because she's a woman, too. ... not! Race isn't the issue. The issue is the fact that McCain and Palin are acting like terrorists, inciting hatred and intolerace against another American with lies, innuendo and rhetoric. Colin Powell has taken a step back toward redemption. Colin Powell has taken a step back toward redemption.Of particular note was his comment regarding McCain's reply that Obama was a Muslim. I don't believe McCain meant it to come out the way it did but by his saying Obama was not a Muslim, he was a Christian and a good man, the implication was planted that Muslim = not good man. This, unfortunately, fit in perfectly with the smear campaign they are running. O.K., I'll modify my statement. Colin Powell is/was a liberal who should have never been embraced by the GOP. He's been pissed off at them for years and then he does this 2 weeks before the election...yeah I'm sure he just now decided whom to support. He knows who is better equipped to lead this country an it sure as hell isn't the Socialist man-child with...he is definitely putting his own pettiness above the security of this nation! Oh no! Not the "S" word. LOL! Sparling, you're hopeless. LISTEN to Powell's reasons. They are well thought-out and logical. His mind was changed because McCain has shown himself to be the wrong choice for America. Colin Powell took the Republican's word on things in the past, and it screwed him. Do you think he's going to let something as meaningless as the colour of a person's skin be the be-all and end-all of his reasons for doing anything? He assessed the situation, and he came to a decision, based on all the evidence shown to him (yes, including all the Republican lies and slander about Obama), and he still picked the man he thinks will do best for America. Do you have his experience with polit... |
