In fact, from my Greek perspective, Sarah Palin's hotness and arbitrary success suggest her father may in fact be: ZEUS LORD OF THUNDER AND MASTER OF THE GODS. And who better to lead our country than the illegitimate offspring of a philandering deity?

But I digress! Since hotness and intelligence seem to be the accepted criteria for leadership these days, I would return to my argument to nominate Fawn Hall, who is, in my humble opinion, both hotter and smarter than Sarah Palin.

And you've gotta admit, Fawn Hall has the foreign policy experience we need on IRAN! (Not to mention Nicaragua!) She also knows how to cover up government corruption, defenestrate before congress, and smoke crack from a spoon. All of these mean she would be a perfect successor to the Bush Administration.

By the way, Debby, you should "take screen shots" of that comment and send them to Nappster's congressman - I wonder how disgusted he'll be?

1. So we all agree, Sarah Palin is hot, but the Republicans keeps saying us "swim-wear-impaired" and "cosmetically-disabled" liberals feel threatened by someone who is "an attractive, intelligent woman."

This begs the obvious question: where did anyone get the idea Sarah Palin was "intelligent" enough to make us feel threatened? Was it because of her Nobel Prize in Chemistry? Or her Magna Cum Laude degree from Harvard? Or her fluent command of eight languages? Did she win the Fields Medal and I just didn't notice it?

2. Since when has ANYONE every felt threatened by someone who is hot, male or female? I normally dismiss hot people as shallow, egotistical and ditsy. (For an example, see the snide comment No.1 that I just made about Mrs. Palin's lack of a Fields Medal)

Hot people tend to presume we hate them because they we are jealous of their beauty, but I'll just file that under more evidence that hot people are narcissistic, superficial and not prone to deep reflection. (And yes, it's a BIG file.)

4. As far as I can tell from his picture, "The Equalizer" looks exactly like aging British stage actor Edward Woodward, so it's anyone's guess as to what he considers "attractive."

5. On a personal note, in my experience, hot people are totally lame in bed - probably something to do with all the narcissism and what not. So which would you rather be? Hot or Sexy? Of course, with his charming wit, the Equalizer, I'm sure the Equalizer won't be getting either any time soon.

(As stated before, my personal choice is that I will never have an abortion ) And the thought of being so shallow as to abort a fetus simply because it isn't perfect enough strikes me as really shockingly diabolical. I don't know anyone who would support elective abortions to expunge those deemed genetically inferior!

The fact that they are astonished that Mrs. Palin would do so suggests that they themselves would have made a less noble decision.

If she is praised for not having a eugenic abortion, then I should be praised for not denying the Holocaust. While it is good to not abort fetuses for genetic reasons, isn't that setting the bar REALLY REALLY LOW for standards of human decency?

I can think of a lot of other monstrous and terrible things I could have done but didn't. Do I get extra points for them too?

The party is sooooooo good at distractions aren't they? Distractions keep the mind at bay from topics like giving their corporate buddies every piece of public land and every government function that isn't bolted down, entrusting the environmental regulation to the polluters, the post-9/11 assault on civil liberties, the hugely expanded federal debt Bush will leave us all, the widening wealth gap between the top and the bottom, indeed, top and middle--which I believe McCain and Palin are not merely indifferent to, but actually quite pleased about, and for the tripling of oil prices, which didn't just happen to occur under an administration led by two oilmen.

Gore Vidal once called the U.S. the United States of Amnesia. Our short national attention span is the Republicans' best friend. Fortunately, when they tauntingly told the Dems to "get over it" after the 2000 election theft, a lot of us didn't listen.

"THANKS BUT PHECK YOU TOO", we said. Time to do it again this November, and wipe that smug look off of McCains face and that annoying "I've just had an orgasm" look off of Palin's.
