Ludicrous. To quote Scroobius Pip: "Thou shalt not assume that any male over the age of 30 who plays with a child that is not his own is a paedophile. Some people are just nice." Exactly. Around here, I can take pictures of my grandchildren at school functions with no problems. But, outside and at the public pool I have to be careful that no one elses child is in the picture without their guardians permission. Nanny state gone insane Well there are so many sickos out there, you have to be careful about who has access to take pictures of kids. its terrible that because of sick freaks parents cant even record these wonderful memories of their own children. I lived in England for more than 13 years and have always been child-friendly. I think misplaced fear will contribute to a generation of children who live inside playstations and wii's and become dehumanized. While living in England, I began to sense that it was not socially acceptable to smile at a stranger's child if you were in a grocery store line or passing by at a cafe or any other public place. No smiles, no encouragement. It was frowned upon as weird. This is the same culture that installs teen repellant high pitched noises in public areas where teens gather. And then is vexed when they have to place Antisocial Orders on kids called ASBO's. When you overcompensate, all you do is ... I think I'm going to start a campaign: "Smile at your neighbors, including the kids!" Anyone who wants to join is welcome. |
