No he merely engineered the rise to power of his successor, supported a civil war that has torn the Palestinian people apart and waged an illegal war in Iraq.

Nothing much really.

Rashid Khalidi is no toady. He is a highly regarded historian whose latest book, The Iron Cage, is by all accounts quite critical of the Palestinian leadership (I have not read it).

All true, if you care to check the facts.

The Palestinian people have been tearing themselves apart for years now. The Israelis give them concession after concession and nothing seems to satisfy them. The Israelis will work towards a two state solutions and mark my words, the Palestinians radicals will not change their stance. They will still want Israel wiped off the map (their words). Jeesh, Hamas seems like a real peace lovin' bunch of guys. I don't see how I could have read them so wrong.

Illegal war my $%#. Sadaam Hussein violated the UN cease fire 14 times. The US and or Britain were well within their legal rights to go back in after the first violation.

Which 14 times? That was not the reason given for invading a country and changing it regime. Probably both sides did it all the time (remember those fighter planes flying over the fly zones). A violation of a ceasefire is not enough to engage in aggressive war.

As for Israel, the concessions come with a price, like reserving the right to re-occupy land and expand the settlements and denying the Palestinians the right of return. Their radicals on both sides who want to continue this conflict for their own benefit.

So again, nothing I said was untrue.

It was not only one of the reasons, it was the legal basis for the invasion. And whether or not you think that the Iraqis were just kiddin' around when they would fire at our pilots isn't the issue. Sadaam agreed to the terms of the cease fire and he reneged on those terms.

Radicals on both sides? I don't see an Hamas type entity in Israel. Especially one that is in the majority at the Kenneset.

And yes those concessions come with a price. That is what happens when you loose. You don't get to set the terms.
