Can't humans allow ANY species to live in a natural environment and not suffer or be at risk of danger because of over farming, etc.

Eating Salmon is good for your heart and cholesterol. Make that, used to be. I have eaten Salmon for years but lately I have noticed it didn’t have the same great taste. I did some research and discovered the same thing as in your clip.

What I also learned is that loss of flavor, dye, and toxins are commonly found in farm raised Salmon. It has a lot to do with their diet. Eating in the wild is so much healthier for the fish than being hand fed and it seems this is the main reason for the loss in quality.

In British Columbia, at least three rivers have now been populated by escaped Atlantic salmon, an invader to the Pacific waters that competes with native fish. Diseases and infestations ca...

And no chance of illegalising such practices I guess? So I will have to stop eating salmon too after I had just recently discovered it? Booo hoooo

I only eat salmon when I am in Seattle where I can be assured that I am not getting farmed salmon. Seattleites take salmon very seriously and preserving the species is almost a religion. I have purchased salmon at the Wild Salmon Seafood Market at Fisherman's Terminal, a family run co-op where local fishermen sell their catch (fresh, local, seasonal). They ship fresh fish overnight. According to their website, coho (yum) season is coming to an end, halibut (grilled halibut - so tasty), is open. They have recipes too.

@brightlight - sorry this doesn't help you. Perhaps there are co-ops like this in Europe.

I shall have to take a look Zizzy, thanks for the suggestion. I was talking to my local fish provider and he said that their salmon comes from Salmon farms and much as I love salmon, I also love my health!! Thanks again.
