pkronfield says: Say what you will about McCain and his Hanoi Hilton colleagues, who suffered much more and for much longer -- but they were examples of how warriors should conduct themselves as prisoners in a time of war. These British kids were pathetic. I wouldn't lump them all together. There was three of them that the media liked to cut out of photos who didn't look too happy to be there at a time when they others were giving the Iranians a great photo op by smiling and waving at the cameras. I'll tell you this much. If i was held hostage by the Iranians you could take that code of conduct and wipe my you know what with it. I'm doing whatever i have to do to get out of there so i could spend the rest of my life alive with my family. It's pretty easy to sit on the internet and criticize these people. Step in their shoes for 5 minutes and then talk. I always thought that soldiers these days were told to say or do anything which would hasten their return home. I certainly don't blame these Brit soldiers for their cooperation with their captors. Wait until you are safe at home, then speak your mind. These British kids were pathetic.I'm presuming it's this sort of comment that prompted Eric's video Nice one ghiberit, some people type first and think later (or should I say 'not at all'). |
