My initial reaction is "what a horrible idea". My second reaction is "thank goodness for Adblock Plus and FlashBlock". I hate autoplay on web pages, and I would really hate it if I got an autoplaying video in an email. Whoever sent it would immediately go on my "to boycott" list.

Just a datapoint from a long-time web user, FWIW.
