While television can be a wonderful educational tool, too much TV—or the wrong type of shows—can be harmful to children. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), children who watch a great deal of television on a regular basis may be at risk for obesity and aggressive behavior. In fact, research suggests that the more time preschool children spend watching TV, the more likely they are to be overweight.
