I am currently stuck ( a problem I am hoping to alleviate before winter) with the now Infamous Unitil Electric company. If you have not heard , they were the one's whose clients were without power for 14 days during last year's ice storm.
This company has never spent a dime in emergency planning( no joke) or testing despite an annual raise in rates , until this year. Yet the top 10 on the board are pulling in 6 figure salary's.
With company's like this around how can you afford not to go green?

Electricity needs to become like cable tv and phone services, more competition to not only drive down prices, but to deliver the product more effectively. I called to cancel cable recently, when ask why I said I wanted to change to another company that offered lower rates, more channels, and hi def. They immediately offered me an even lower rate and expanded my programming, the rate for this was $40 a month less than I was paying them for less channels!
