Not imaginable, what gene-modified creatures can eliminate.
Eventually all!
And this is mostly done by so called "Christs", who say, that one did this at one day in perfecton.
I'm very afraid of this last step of profite greed.
The toads are coming to central europe now. The kind of demage they are doing here is some different, but very harmful too!
In lakes, where they have put their eggs, originates (?) a substance, that determines the complete developing of the tadpoles of the endemic frogs and toads (very small, cute animals). They don't...

The toads are coming to central europe now. The kind of demage they are doing here is some different, but very harmful too!
In lakes, where they have put their eggs, originates (?) a substance, that determines the complete developing of the tadpoles of the endemic frogs and toads (very small, cute animals). They don't get their legs and must die, before they can reproduce themselves.
Such a lake is inhabited after 3 years by only those giant toads - so they go to the next. A mostly very short way to jump in germany, that can be made in one night easily by the giants.
The complete biotope is determined for years - because the biologic line is not only broken, it's completely destroyed, from microbes up to fishes and higher animals. It can lead to collapse of the water.
And the government prefer to kill people in asia instead beasts, that are a real harassment for the environment and us all!

This weeks "Yellowstone" had an opposite but supporting item. The beaver had virtually gone from the park since its inception. It was not reintroduced but came back!!! Better still was the huge amount of wildlife that followed the beaver's return, that depend on the habitat that the beaver created.

It was the reintroduction of the WOLF - hated by some, loved by many - that allowed the the return of the beaver!!! No one had foreseen this fantastic consequence. It was the interplay between the wolf and the elk that allowed the natural return of the beaver. The explanation is NOW clearly known but difficult to explain. Maybe some more articulate viewer from Britain might explain ...

So it's a good luck, that you have such aggressive kinds of ants! While in Australia maybe a lack of feed for some animals, I never heard, that any from our german wild animals tried to eat the toads. And one guy told me, that his dog - a big one, boxer mix, that is normally hunting for rabbits, pidgeons and ducks - took flight if he found one of the big toads. They smell very different from our endemic frogs and toads. Our foxes and martens have a lot of food during the summer, and in the winter the toads are sleeping! For this reason - the lack of any enemy - they are growing so far. The only one who could stop them, seems to be humans.

About the influence of wolves in the north-west of USA I have seen something in TV. This is an evident example, that the chain of nature is widely unexplored and relatively unknown! But we know, that every species has its place and if one is vanished from its environment, others will follow.
