I think this is disgusting. Where are the ethics?

"It's an energy drink, and it's a fun name. As soon as people look at the can, they smile."

These energy drinks alone makes me suspicious of their intent . I have yet to try one, but I know people who have been seriously hooked. Red bull is perhaps not as bad as others I have seen with obscene amount of caffeine and what not.

How about "Coke", or "Coca-Cola" as a soft drink name?

1.
Pemberton began to develop a non-alcoholic version of the French Wine Coca. His book keeper (and later lead Marketeer), Frank Robinson, coined the name Coca-Cola, because it included the stimulant cocaine and was flavored using kola nuts, a source of caffeine.
2.
For many decades cocaine was a key ingredient in Coca-Cola.

Wow! I had no idea they actually put cocaine in Coke at one time.

yes, i remember that bit of info...
however, the fact that our society TODAY would put out a drink called 'COCAINE' is an embarassment.

Wow, don't let ericg see this, I bet he already had a few cases shipped to me... All joking aside, I'll def try it. I live for energy drinks and have tried them all. KMX was my preferred, but haven't seen that around in a few years. Red Bull was the next in line and preferred in the absense of KMX. Now I have found one called XS and they make it in flavors. I am in love with the lemon flavored and my last order was for 4 cases. I know they aren't the greatest thing in the world for you, but the XS ones are def the least bad for you. Mostly just B and other vitamins with some cafiene. A lot of the others are mostly caffiene which i would imagine is pretty bad for you... Anyway, let the drink bashing begin!

I like the idea, just not the name.
Derek - I found something that is very close to Red Bull, it is made under the label Red Thunder. There is a food chain here called Aldi's (I think they are based in germany) that sells the stuff. It is only $2.99 for a 4 pack. Same size as Red Bull. The only diff I have found is that Red Thunder has a little less carbonation then Red Bull.
I have tried most of them as well, except KMX. I think the Full Trottle stuff is the most disgusting, as I think it tastes similar to Mt. Dew which I hate.
Still I have found nothing that matches 4 shots of good expresso

Wow, Thanks rob! We have aldi's here too and I will be making a trip there in the very near future just for that reason. At that price, you can't beat it! Anyway, there is a new one of the ones in the big can called snake eyes, and i think it's really good. Haven't tried many others except monster which i think is pretty nasty. As for KMX, i just did some digging, and it was discontinued a couple years ago. Turns out it wasn't all that popular. Maybe when I dropped caffiene for that few months, it made them go bankrupt...
