Johanna_G says: Er - not me, but the above quoted source says: The gathering, dubbed "Preparing This Generation to Capture the Future," was hosted by American Vision, a ministry that has been toiling away since 1978 to "help Christians build a truly Biblical worldview." In a conference handout, American Vision states that "By God's grace, we will work together to make America a truly Christian nation for our children's children." Tempting as it is to dismiss these people as incurable nutcases, they are very committed to their viision, which includes a sort of "by any means" credo. Stealing elections, infiltrating local political groups, subverting congregations to essentially steal church property - all of these things are considered perfectly legitimate tactics. For more info, check out "theocracy watch" on LiveJournal. Thank you, graphictruth. On LiveJournal I didn't find anything about or of theocracy watch. Perhaps it's http://www.theocracywatch.org/ you are recommending. They are nutcases, but they are serious about what they are doing and they are a danger to anyone who has secular values to any degree. The hardcore reconstructionists (also sometimes called dominionists) are like the Cylons in the new Battlestar Galactica...they have a Plan. That plan includes things like concentration camps and/or deportaion for non-Christians, the death penalty like you mentioned and the abolition of all secular education. Compared to some of these guys, the ayatollahs are creampuffs. "....about the nation's moral confusion, claim the public schools are bastions of secular humanism and warn that Christians..." are in danger of persecution. Is this not true in America? Secularists....trust me, you are in no danger. This world belongs to you. |
