Thorne says:
My point is where does censorship end?? If clipmarks bans LT, what about the rest of this garbage? LT seemed to enjoy baiting, and trolling, but frankly some of my favorite witty intellectuals here do the same, even if they use milder language.
I have been guilty of pushing a button or two around here myself, as have many of us.
I'm not defending LT here... I'm defending Clipmarks.

this and the previous 3 clips were taken from commentary on http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/D7B43EA3-41E4-449C-8711-7AC7635A3FA6/

I think Thorne makes a good point; any other opinions?

From the EULA:
---
you <The Clipmarks User> agree not to:

...use the... Site... to post... or otherwise disseminate content... that is harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, pornographic, abusive, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.

Use the... Site to cause offense. You may not (1) abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate any other user of the Software or Site or otherwise interfere with any other user's use and enjoyment of the Software or Site
----

I do believe he was in violation. And of course the creators of clipmarks are the one's to decide how to respond when the agreement is violated, and if it ...

was clipmarks better for it, or was clipmarks more peaceful for it.
I can have a garden of my own where nobody is allowed to speak, or they will have their throat slit, and it would be quite tranquil and peaceful, and a wonderful place to be as long as you weren't prone to speaking. But I wouldn't say it was 'better' than a noisy street in the business district of some big city.
Inaccurate analogy if you were attempting to draw one.

What happened to parts 1 and 2?

Look under my clipmarks. It's all better now. LT is "un-banned", and Lt's analogy is reasonably apt.

No it isn't.

How so, Bit?

Lets use your Garden analogy and lets make it correlate better to clipmarks.

You own a garden and you let the public in to view your garden for free, and these people are going about looking at this garden and discussing it, having debates about which flowers are better or better cultivating methods. Then you have some damn fool nitwit come into the garden and start screaming at the other people in the garden swearing and calling them rapists and making new comers not want to come back. Is the Garden better if this nitwit is thrown out and never allowed back in? Damn right it is, AND it is more peaceful.

We aren't just looking at the flowers, we're the planters and the gardeners too (for free). Popping clips up into the sunlight. Oh I feel so poetic today! .

And banning anyone with an opinion that doesn't match your own simply makes the garden from a great venue for interactivity into a very lonely place for you and those who think like you.
That's not an accurate representation, is it? No one has been banned for his/her differing opinion. I believe the behavior that Bitdrifter addressed falls under this category from the EULA:

You may not (1) abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate any
other user of the Software or Site or otherwise interfere with any
other user's use and enjoyment of the Software or Site

how can we decide, with a rule that vague, what does and doesn't constitute violating the agreement?
We don't the owners of the Garden do, and I know the owners of this Garden very very very very rarely exersice their right to throw someone out of it. I beleive only two people have been permanetly banned from this site, the one who liked to call everyone a rapist and someone who posted child porn.

I had a reply but: What BitDrifter said. Clipmarks management isn't really tossing people out on a whim.

Bignosemousie:
If you refuse to read my entire opinion, (since you choose not to look past the mature content filter), what makes you feel that you are posting an informed opinion?? Just curious.

Which opinion are you most curious about?

Clipmarks doesn't toss people out on a whim.
No one has been banned for his/her differing opinion.

Frankly Bignose, any/all opinions, if you don't take the time/energy to be fully informed on the topic at hand. Or perhaps this is my misreading, and you are only commenting on a comment rather than the actual post, which is so common here.

All of my comments on this clip except the first one were in response to lordthor's comments. I apologize if that wasn't clear.
