How cool is this? A secondary DNA meta-code has been discovered superimposed on top of the same "genetic code" whose transcription it influences! (Douglas Hofstadter would have had a field day with this!) Highly efficient from an information science point of view. There are so many wonders to be discovered within our very selves!

But it's all an accident right? Given enough time, a bunch of gas the exploded morphed into this. Right...........

We were CREATED with specific intent. Intelligent Design. By the most intelligent person there is - the one true God.

travis, Please keep the comments on topic meaning science.

Kore this is extremely fascinating man.

This is fascinating indeed... but sohil - please stick to your job (i.e. clipmarker/commentator, not censor/moderator)... it's a free country - remember?

Ya but it's irritating to see people talk about God etc on science clips.

It's best not to worry about it too much. Besides, some may find god in church or the bible while others may find god in dinucleotide probability distribution functions. Who's to say?

Anyway, the full text of the article is available here. I think this stuff is fascinating.

Sweet. Thanks Kore7.

No prob. Call me Jason, if you want. It makes things fun, yet confusing.

Wow! What a find with huge possibilities.

Although you may take issue with the manner in which it was introduced, I think discussion on intelligent design is a valid branch for this comment thread.

Indeed, I find this discovery to be truly incredible and inspiring.

Excellent clip Kore!

Except that science is one of the tags, not philosophy.

Indeed kmcolo, but irrelevant to a discussion on this amazing find and how it participates in a variety of excellent studies (including intelligent design.) Just remember, in science, there are no absolutes

There is one absolute in science. It is only science when the theory is disprovable.

??

Are you saying that "when theory is disprovable" it is science?

Bottom line. Science is about asking the questions, not knowing the answers. Theory always leaves room for doubt.

kmcolo
Exactly. Doubt. The first test for a scientific theory is if there is a means to disprove it. With creationism/ID, how does one disprove it? Anything that does (like genetic evolution) is god's will or some such.

One need not evoke god when describing thunder and one need not evoke god when describing complex systems. One certainly can and is free to, but it isn't science.

By pointing out that not everyone on this earth is a Christian.

A large chunk choose to believe in science.
