On the way to work today, there is this pro-life sign that says every baby is a blessing. I think of the Baby Stalin, the Baby Ted Bundy, the Baby BTK Killer. But, anyway, we let breathing Americans languish without health care, and that causes death as well.

As an ardent pro-choice woman, I believe in only one stipulation which I think finds common ground in the issue: Every baby deserves to be born WANTED.

Birth control is not reliable, and there will abortions whether they are legal or not. And when they are not, women will die, leaving their other children motherless, and worse.

And as you astutely allude to, all discussion about health care must include end-of-life issues too. I'm sure the health care industry just loves keeping people "alive" when they are, in fact, more dead than a 4-week fetus.
