BigBadWolf says: Ok, ANYONE who has felt that text editors did not make life as easy as they should needs to check this out. It looks cheezy but is extremely powerful from what I can see. It treats chunks of text almost like images. Pay attention to the instant abstraction which makes working with any programming language or outline a dream! Amazing stuff. Nice find. Might I also recommend my (more traditional) favorite text editing program UltraEdit. This is impressive! ultraedit looks pretty good too (I do an awful lot of writing for my job). Maybe after pay day I've used UltraEdit for almost 6 years now, and it is hands down the most powerful and most flexible (traditional) text editor I've found. I use it to code C, C#, C++, SQL, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, etc. The find and replace scripting you can run is freakishly amazing. Though, now that BBW has linked us up with Sudden View, I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm going to try both .... when I get the time ..... (should be working now I used to use ultraedit when I was more into hand coding. Now that I do most of my work in Dreamweaver, it's hard to switch out from it to another editor and back. The advantage I see to Sudden View is the way in which you can litterally move any chunk of text anywhere. The abstraction will help when I have a problem with multiple divs/routines and one of them not being closed right. Yep, I'm an Ultra-Edit 'fan' too. I tried a lot text-editors and found this one most useful, powerful and customizable one.. The 'find & replace' in several txt-files can be a big timesaver. The ability to select text in columns is pretty handy too. Click the link above to discover why it won the 'Best Text-Editor' prize (@DonationCoder) |
