Since one can command the "Global Community Peacekeepers", is defeating Jesus on his returns to earth a possible game outcome?

Presumably. Did I mention that playing as the forces of Satan includes killing believers and eating their bodies? The GameSpy review has this quote:

As for the violence in a game built from a Christian perspective, [CEO] Lyndon doesn't shy away from that either, pointing out that the Bible itself is quite a violent book. "The point of morality is that people have a choice in how they react to situations -- and one of those choices is always going to be violence." While the game itself has no blood, it doesn't shy away from showing corpses, and lots of them. In fact, one of the things people might find ...

I wonder how this game will turn out, in terms of its reception by the public. Will people actually buy it and play it? Will it just be restricted to evangelical Christians? How many of them actually play real-time strategy computer games? Given the poor record of licensed-games, I can't imagine it will fare too well (I do NOT intend on finding out first hand).

I don't keep tabs on the game market enough to say but you can't deny the Left Behind authors' ability to appeal to their (very large) audience. See, this is where we need Guillaume's first-hand experience with these things...

Oh no, I don't play evangelical Christian games; I seek a little creativity and a good imagination when selecting adventure or RTS games. That's why I rejected to play the sequels to "Age Of Empires" series

I used to work at TX largest indie bookstore (bookpeople.com) and we used to carry those books in the "INpsirational Fiction" section.

UPDATE: Attorney Jack Thompson, author of several Christian books for publisher Tyndale House (which owns and licensed the rights for the "Left Behind" books) — including a book denouncing the effect of video game violence on American children — is now condeming Tyndale for this move and threatening legal action against them. In a letter to Dr. Dobson of Focus on the Family (who also writes family-rearing books for Tyndale), Thompson lamented the existence and marketing of the video game to children as horrific and begged him to repudiate Tyndale for it's release:
My words cannot fully describe what a...

FURTHER UPDATE: The Left Behind video game leaves behind a nice little piece of spyware on gamer's PCs which sends user information to a central server which in turn targets in-game ads to the user's PC. As of now it looks like the software is not "malware" (which I assume means software that compromises system performance), but still this isn't nice from a privacy standpoint.
