not just in the US but in Britain too – shows the intellectual disarray caused by these profound developments. They say politicians must stop trying to hold the cultural line and go instead with the flow of change. In Britain, the Tory party has adopted this strategy. Now there are Republicans saying the same thing.
But John McCain is a Republican who does not fit the old template, who does subscribe to some of this ‘change’ agenda on a number of issues. As a result, he was incapable of attacking Obama on the most important grounds of all: that he stood for values inimical to America’s founding principles.

When he [McCain]did venture into this territory, it was half-cocked and far too late, appearing merely like the desperate throw of a loser. The reason he couldn’t do it earlier was that he had no coherent platform of his own. The Republicans screwed up in government, they selected a hopelessly frail and erratic candidate, he ran a shambolic campaign. They deserved to lose.

So now we are promised a change in America’s fundamental values. And they really will be changed. Obama has said in terms that he thinks the US constitution is flawed. America’s belief in itself as defending individual liberty, truth and justice on behalf of the free world will now be expiated instead as its original sin. Those who have for the past eight years worked to bring down the America that defends and protects life and liberty are today ecstatic. They have stormed the very citadel on Pennsylvania Avenue itself.

Millions of Americans remain lion-hearted, decent, rational and sturdy. They find themselves today abandoned, horrified, deeply apprehensive for the future of their countr...

Good artice. However the use of the term "sharia-law banking system" makes me skeptical of the sincerity of the writer.

There sure is some bewildering and crazy talk here but since the elections are over it's less important to me to sort out what weird agenda may be behind it all.

Um..well, I'll least point out that Obama loves the Constitution. He graduated from the most prestigious law school in our nation and went on, in fact, to teach Constitutional law.

Everything else here also the opposite of the truth. But can't explain more, gotta go make a sharia bank deposit.

Yep, the sharia law metaphor was just plan weird. The points are well taken though. I just can't imagine HArry Reid and Nancy Pelosi getting their collective heads out long enough to actually pass anything of substance. We will see.

Melanie Phillips

Her latest book, Londonistan, was published in 2006. In it, Philips claims that radical Islamism has established London as a base of operations, blaming what she sees as the broader failures of multiculturalism, cultural relativism and appeasement in Britain.

The greatest threat to world peace and world progress is warmongering for Oil and Israel.

Zionist-extremist exist in every country and along with rich oil companies, Republican warmongers and the interests of the military propel my nation into war; into the war in Iraq and now they want a war in Iran.

They wish to spread hate and fear, they wish to start religious and racial wars and divides: against all Muslims, against Arabs and the real reason is their own interest in land, expansion and oil, natural gas, farmlands, water, etc.

They are here are clipmarks; some of their posts are above.
