Photo released Wednesday by the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) shows a Philippine Eagle chick (scientific name: Pithecophaga jefferyi) hatched at the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City December 7 from the natural eagle pairs of Tsai and Princess Maasim. The chick, the 22nd bred and hatched in captivity by the foundation, had to be helped out of its shell by experts when it made no move to emerge. It has since been stable.
